Our favourite Parisian sneaker brand have developed a new model, the Holiday and we are in love. The soft organic cotton insole and upper made of suede tanned with acacia extracts lends itself to luxury both inside and out. The sole is particularly comfortable due to increased elasticity thanks to a new technique devised by Veja and the University of Brasília called Liquid Rubber Technology which uses wild rubber from the Amazon. LRT has both social and environmental benefits, it adds values in the supply chain; generating more income for the rubber producers and reduces the financial appeal of deforestation. Need we say more.

Locally Produced: Materials are sourced and produced in Brazil

Locally Sourced: Veja work with 320 families who make a living from organic cotton farming in North East Brazil

Mindful Manufacturing: Veja work with ASF an organistaion in France that employs people who are being reintroduced into society.

Environmentally friendly: Rubber is grown on wild trees in the Amazon. Leather is vegetable tanned reducing the pollution in water surrounding the tannery. Organic cotton is used to reduce the use of chemicals benefiting both the manufacturer and end user.

Veja

We could talk about Veja for days. Launched in 2004 by Sébastien Kopp & François Morillion, VEJA was founded as an adventure and an attempt to try something different. In 10 years, the Veja team proved that it was possible to rethink how sneakers were made. They use organic cotton for the canvas, wild rubber from Amazon to create the soles, work directly with small farmers to source materials and create new & innovative ecological fabrics. However most importantly they produce sneakers with dignity.
Our collection from the brand includes shoes made from the skin of fish eaten by locals in Brazil and a trainer with Liquid Rubber Technology in the sole for extra comfort. The shoes are beautiful and the ethics match.
